How to Kill Japanese Giant Hornet

Osuzumebachi (Japanese giant hornet) is known as the deadliest killer bee with highly aggressive character.

Every year during fall, hornet sting occurs in various parts in Japan that leads to death. Today, how to kill giant hornets will be introduced.

It is possible for O suzumebachi to travel 3km away from their hives, so it is necessary to track them in order to eliminate them.

Place a thin needle on the end of a long stick.

Fix larva and imago of bees other than hornets on the needle.

Osuzumebachi especially likes larva. Osuzumebachi turns insects into clumps and feeds their young larva.

Osuzumebachi gets on the stick to make clumps.

While Oosuzumebachi is focused on to feeding, take it to open ground.

Put a paper-made tag on waist. It is not dangerous to approach while distracted to food.

When in a hurry, make some clumps and give it to the hornet

The hornet returns to its hive after completing clump making process.

Follow the hornet by looking at the tag that was attached before.

The hive is found. For research or eating purpose, pesticide cannot be used.

Use renovated vacuum cleaner to get one by one.

When all the hornets are taken by the cleaner, collect the hive.

If the numbers are too many, make smoke on the hive and cause all the hornets to lose consciousness.

Hornets flying outside the hive can be taken out by simply concussing with badminton racket.

When all hornets are taken out, put the hive in plastic bag.

Eating Japanese Giant Hornet

When all hornets are taken out, bring back the hive in plastic bag.

Most O suzumebachi that are eaten are larva. Larva inside the hive can be made into tsukudani (preserved condiments). If there are young imagoes, they can be fried to eat.

Larva tastes rather sweet and has soft texture. Imago tastes similar to shrimp.

Alcoholic beverage containing o suzumebachi uses imago not larva.

Surprisingly, live hornets are put into alcohol directly. If dead hornets are put inside, fluid extract (venom) does not come out.

Obviously, hornets taken by using insecticide cannot be used.

Also, most hornets that are inside the hive are male, so there would be no effect on alcohol, (female has stinger and venom, male does not)
